This Privacy Policy explains how WildFocus ("the app", "we", "our") handles information when you use our application on iOS or Android. We have designed WildFocus with privacy in mind — no personal accounts, minimal data collection, and full transparency about what is measured and why.
We do not collect personal information. The app does not require you to create an account, sign in with an email, or provide any identifying details.
All data you generate — focus sessions, your pet collection, streaks, achievements, preferences, and notification settings — is stored only on your device using the device's local storage.
The app does collect anonymous usage events (Section 4) and anonymous crash and performance data (Section 5) to help us understand how the app is used and improve it. No event is linked to your identity.
WildFocus stores the following data locally on your device:
This data is cleared if you uninstall the app. You can export and import it at any time via the app's built-in Export / Import feature — the resulting JSON file stays under your full control.
WildFocus offers an optional Cloud Backup feature. When you enable it, your local data is encrypted and stored in Firebase Firestore (Google Cloud, EU region) under an anonymous Firebase account — no email or password required. A recovery key is generated so you can restore your backup on a new device.
Cloud Backup is token-gated (10 backup tokens per month). Your anonymous account ID is stored locally on your device and is not linked to your identity. If you uninstall the app without exporting your recovery key, access to the cloud backup may be permanently lost.
You can delete your cloud backup at any time from Settings → Cloud Backup.
WildFocus collects anonymous usage events through PostHog (posthog.com), an open-source product analytics platform. Data is stored on PostHog's EU-region servers and is never used for advertising or shared with third parties.
The following event types are recorded:
No personal information is included in any event. Your IP address is never logged. Events are associated only with a randomly generated anonymous identifier stored in the app's local storage — it is not linked to your identity in any way.
You can opt out at any time in the app: Settings → Privacy → Analytics toggle. When disabled, no events are sent.
WildFocus uses Sentry (sentry.io) to collect anonymous crash reports and performance traces. This helps us detect and fix bugs quickly. Sentry is configured to:
Crash reports include stack traces and device context (OS version, app version, memory state) but no personal data. Performance traces measure timing of app operations (e.g., screen load times) without recording content.
WildFocus uses the following third-party services:
No personal data is shared with or sold to any third party. No advertising or social SDKs are integrated.
The app may request the following permissions depending on your platform:
iOS:
Android:
No permission is used to access your contacts, location, microphone, camera, or files.
WildFocus is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because no personal data leaves your device, there is no risk of unintentional collection.
Local data is protected by your device's own security mechanisms (lock screen, encryption). Cloud backup data is stored under an anonymous Firebase account accessible only via your recovery key. We recommend keeping your device software and the app up to date.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. The URL of this page remains constant, so you can bookmark it for reference.
